The first step
Write down what you are waiting for: showing content, loading photos, or the response of the menu and form. Test this page and the activity that the customer actually uses.
A free main page with a large photo is a different case than a calendar that searches for dates for a long time. Removing a needed feature may improve a single measurement but make it more difficult for a customer to choose a service.
The first visit is also important. The owner can see the fast page thanks to the saved resources while a new visitor is just downloading them.
Similar symptom. Various reasons.
- Are you waiting a long time for your first content?
- Reasons may include server response, resources, and display behavior. It's worth measuring stages rather than guessing based on the number of plugins.
- Can you see the content but the buttons are slow to respond?
- This is a separate symptom of how the page behaves after the content appears. Save a specific button and action.
- Does the problem only affect a specific page or network?
- Comparing the main page with the offer, gallery and calendar helps determine the scope. One slow attempt on a weak network does not describe the entire site.
Without changing files and settings
What you can check yourself
- Write down the address, phone number, browser and connection type.
- Describe when text appears and when an important action can be performed.
- Compare the first input with the next one and note the difference.
- Indicate functions that cannot be removed, e.g. photos of the project or selection of the date.
What solutions make sense
The diagnosis should show at what stage time is lost. Large images, delayed scripts and server response require other work. Compressing one photo alone does not exhaust optimization.
We set the scope for important pages and tasks. during acceptance checks we compare the same conditions and preserved functions. We describe the tool's result along with the device and measurement method, without promising a fixed number of points.
After the work is done
This is how you will know that the topic is proven
- With the ordered optimization, the time of the selected activity was compared before and after, in the same conditions.
- It was assessed whether the previously agreed outcome was achieved. The unfulfilled goal remains identified as a problem for further work.
- If diagnosis only was ordered, you have a description of the location of the delay and the measurement results.
- The content and features you need remain available and important activities can be completed.
Prepare a description for reporting
Complete what you know. “I don't know” is also an answer. You can copy the text or save it as a file.
This field does not send anything. Don't enter passwords, recovery codes or customer details. After refreshing, your changes may disappear.
Would you like to pass the matter on?
To start with, all you need is an address, a symptom and the moment you noticed it. We will arrange the rest if necessary.
Report this problem ↗The form will open with the topic of this guide. Paste your observations. Sending an inquiry is free of charge.
Technical basis
The guide helps you sort out the symptom. It is not a diagnosis of your installation. The details depend on the tool used and its version.
